Bergen Bagels: Cream Cheese Like You Nevah Seen
Bergen Bagels is another one of those Pratt student staples. And let's face it, even if I didn't go to Pratt, who doesn't love bagels. Exactly. No one.
They have an assortment of bagels from cinnamon raisin to salt. They also have sandwiches and muffins. The sandwiches are ok, the muffins are...meh. The muffins are kinda small, and the outside is sort of stale which makes me question how long they've been sitting there. Unless they are just baked to be slightly over cooked.
The exterior of Bergen's. Why am I eating bagels at night? Because I do what I want...like a boss.
A shot of the selection. Look at all dat cream cheese. AWEEEEE YEAAAAAAAH.
A shot of the seating area. I wish I had a taken a shot of their original location, I felt like the all wood interior had a nicer ambiance, but it was much smaller with almost no seating. Now it sort of looks like a high school cafeteria.
Today I felt like a jalapeno cream cheese, with cucumbers on an everything bagel. Toasted, duh. I always feel like they put a bit too much cream cheese, but I'm okay with that. I would rather there more than less. Less is more does not apply to food. Ever. They also have sliced smoked salmon, which is pretty delicious. Salmon is always great with a bagel, the salty smokey soft texture of salmon combined with the rough texture of the bagel. The bread balances out the saltiness. I have still been itching to try out Russ and Daughters specifically for their cured salmon.
