Muffins on Clinton: Ain't Bluffin with Deez Muffins

I've been meaning to post this for while, but school has overrun my life the past few weeks. Clinton Muffins is a very nice lady, Marlene, selling delicious homemade muffins. These muffins are no joke, for 4 bucks you get a muffin the size of your face. She's usually out there from the first week of spring till the week before Thanksgiving, and she will be out there until she sells all of her muffins (and yes she does sell out every single weekend).

Marlene usually sets up shop around 9:30 and is usually sold out by 1PM or so. This shot was taken at noon and you can see she only has two left.

The menu. I've tried every single one and they are all delicious. My favorite has to be between the pumpkin, and the chocolate chip. I'm not big on sweets but the chocolate chip must have crack in it or something because I get cravings for it every once in a while.

On this particular day I decided to get the zucchini. It was similar to the Pumpkin as it had a bit of pumpkin spice in it, and what I suspect to be a pinch of Chinese five spice. Regardless the pumpkin was very soft and moist. Rich in flavor but not overwhelming. The thing that really makes these muffins stand are the unique blend of textures. You get the soft body of the muffin contrasted with some other rougher texture, either the crunch from roasted coconut shavings or some other ingredient. I have to admit the muffin is really dense, and I can only finish about half in one sitting. There is probably a lot of butter in the making of these muffins, but I'm totally okay with that.
